Apple has successfully kept a lot of its Camera app paradigms rooted in traditional concepts of photography. Portrait mode features f-stops for its depth effect; lenses are described in full-frame equivalent focal lengths. This stuff matters: it exposes users, even casual ones, to the fundamentals of photography.
